Instructies:
Crystal Resin
Applications :
Moulding of decorative objects, tray backgrounds, creation of jewelry, decoration of supports, inclusions of maximum 2cm thickness for a small volume. In a thin layer, Crystal Resin gives a varnish effect on your creations.
In a dry and clean container, pour first 1 part of Crystal B hardener and then 2 parts of Crystal A resin.
Mix the two components well until the corners of the container (incomplete mixing does not guarantee hardening, mixing too vigorously will cause bubbles to appear). Transfer the mixture to a second container and mix again to ensure homogeneity of the resin and optimal curing.
Pour into the substrate of your choice.
Allow to dry for 24 hours in a dust-free environment.
Setting time is gradual and variable depending on ambient temperature and humidity.
Crystal Resin is ideal for Pebeo mixed media.
Gedeo tips:
To know the quantity of each component and not waste the product, fill the mold to be used with water and pour into a measuring container: one third of the volume for the hardener and two thirds for the resin. Dry the mold and the measuring container well before pouring in the Crystal Resin.
The resin takes on the surface appearance of the substrate into which it is poured. A matte mold will give a matte finish, a glossy mold a glossy finish.
To give a glossy look to a matte finish, use Gédéo GLOSS+ varnish or Gédéo Crystal Resin in a thin layer.
Sand the surfaces before reapplying on the hardened resin.
To allow your creation to take shape, you can unmold after 12 hours of drying and, for example, place your molding around a bottle to give it a curved shape. The complete hardening occurs after 24 hours.
We advise you to protect your creations with the application of a layer of Bindex glossy 24 hours before pouring the Crystal Resin.
Precautions :
Avoid contact with skin and eyes, wear gloves.
Only objects cast in metal molds intended for this purpose can be used as jewelry.
Do not mix the components of Gédéo Crystal Resin with the components of Gédéo Glaze Resin.
Do not exceed 150ml of Gédéo Crystal Resin preparation per mixture to limit any risk of overheating.
Gédéo resins are not intended to be placed in contact with food.
Crystal Resin applications, even when dry, do not tolerate contact with water.
Glazing Resin
Applications:
Make sure the work surface is level.
In a dry and clean container, pour first 1 part of Glaze Hardener B and then 2 parts of Glaze Resin A.
Mix the two components thoroughly until they reach the corners of the container (incomplete mixing does not guarantee hardening, mixing too vigorously will cause bubbles to appear). Transfer the mixture to a second container and mix again to ensure homogeneity of the resin and optimal hardening.
Pour onto the surface of your choice
Allow to dry for 12 hours in a dust-free environment. Setting time is progressive and variable depending on ambient temperature and humidity
Casting glazing resin on printed photos: printed photos contain different types of colorants that are not always stable in contact with epoxy resins.
We recommend to protect it with a coat of Bindex gloss 24 hours before pouring the resin on the photo.
The same recommendation applies to the use of Glazing Resin in Pebeo's mixed techniques.
Gedeo tips:
Protect your work surface with plastic.
The mixture is homogeneous when it becomes transparent.
To know the quantity of Glaze Resin to make for a surface:
Measure the height and width.
Multiply the two values.
Multiply the result by 0.2.
The result determines the amount of resin to prepare.
If necessary, help the product to go on the edges with the spatula.
Precautions :
Avoid contact with skin and eyes, wear gloves.
Do not mix the components of Gédéo Glaze Resin with other components of the Gédéo resin range. (Crystal Resin, Color Resin, Pearlescent Resin) - Do not exceed 150ml of Glaze Resin preparation per mixture.
Gedeo Glaze Resin applications are sensitive to low temperatures and humidity.
Gedeo resins are not intended to be used in contact with food.
Biobased epoxy resins
1. Biosourced Crystal Resin
Applications :
Multi-supports: Metal, painted wood, canvas, silicone, plastic...
Once cured, the resin will not withstand prolonged contact at temperatures above 50°C or below 0°C.
Instructions :
In a dry and clean container, first pour 1 part of Cristal B hardener and then 2 parts of Cristal A resin.
Mix the two components well until they reach the corners of the container (incomplete mixing does not guarantee hardening, mixing too vigorously will cause bubbles to appear). Transfer the mixture to a second container and mix again to ensure homogeneity of the resin and optimal mixing. Mixing operations can take up to 5 minutes depending on the quantity prepared.
Allow the mixture to sit in the container for 5 minutes to remove any bubbles.
Pour into or onto the surface of your choice. Do not keep the mixture in the mixing container longer than 45 minutes after mixing.
Let dry 24 hours in a dust-free environment. Setting is gradual and variable depending on the ambient temperature.
Gedeo tips:
In case of molding:
To know the quantity of each component and not waste the product, fill the mold to be used with water and pour into a measuring container. Note the volume obtained.
One third of the volume should be for the hardener and two thirds for the resin. Dry the mold and the measuring container well before pouring in the resin.
The mixture is homogeneous when it becomes transparent.
The resin takes on the surface appearance of the substrate into which it is poured. A matte mold will give a matte finish, a glossy mold a glossy finish.
To give a glossy look to a matte finish, use a thin layer of Gédéo GLOSS+ varnish or Gédéo Bisosourced Crystal Resin.
To shape your creation, you can unmold after 12 hours of drying and, for example, place your molding around a bottle to give it a curved shape. The complete hardening occurs after 24 hours.
We advise you to protect your work with the application of a coat of Bindex gloss 24 hours before casting the Biosourced Crystal Resin.
Precautions :
Avoid contact with skin and eyes, wear gloves.
Do not mix the components of Bio Crystal Resin with other components of the Gedeo resin range.
Gédéo resins are not intended to be put in contact with food.
Make sure that the surface is clean and not greasy before pouring (if necessary, degrease with a cloth soaked in alcohol)
Resin creations, even once dry, do not support contact with water.
2. Biosourced Glazing Resin
Applications :
Multi-supports: Metal, Painted wood, Canvas, Non-porous paper, silicone, plastic...
Instructions:
Make sure your work surface is horizontal and have a stopwatch.
In a dry and clean container, pour first 1 part of Glaze B hardener and then 2 parts of Glaze A resin. Start the stopwatch.
Mix the two components well until they reach the corners of the container (incomplete mixing does not guarantee hardening, mixing too vigorously will cause bubbles to appear). Transfer the mixture to a second container and mix again to ensure the homogeneity of the resin and optimal mixing. Mixing operations can take up to 5 minutes depending on the quantity prepared.
Total mixing and waiting time before pouring should not exceed 10 minutes. Pour the entire prepared mixture onto the substrate of your choice.
Allow to dry for 6 hours in a dust-free environment. Setting time is gradual and variable depending on the ambient temperature.
Gedeo tips:
Protect your work surface with a plastic sheet.
The mixture is homogeneous when it becomes transparent.
To know the quantity of Glaze Resin to cover a 1 mm thick surface:
Estimate the surface to cover in cm².
Divide the value obtained by 10 which will give a thickness of 1 mm of cast resin
The result determines the quantity of resin to prepare in ml
To cover a surface of 2 mm thickness, multiply the first result by 2 (or divide the surface obtained).
If necessary, help the product to go on the edges with a spatula.
We advise you to protect your work with the application of a coat of Bindex gloss 24 hours before pouring the Biosourced Glazing Resin.
Precautions :
Avoid contact with skin and eyes, wear gloves.
